Carlos Calvo is a singer/songwriter who, in his accomplished and diverse career, has opened for Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, played on the score of Fox's King of the Hill for two seasons, toured in Europe several times as an opening act as well as a headliner, and placed original songs in several major motion pictures.

A solo artist for only a few years, Carlos independently recorded and released his debut CD, Past Present Future, which was named one of Los Angeles Music Connection Magazine's top 25 independent releases of 2002. This collection of songs marries personal and revealing lyrics with musical influences that span from The Beatles to Flamenco music and beyond.

Carlos has been compared to many contemporary artists such as David Gray and Dave Matthews, but with one striking difference: his rare mastery of his instrument, the guitar. Trained in both Classical and Flamenco styles in NYC for over ten years, his elevated musicianship adds textural, ethnic, and technical elements to his performances that are rarely seen or heard in Pop music. Complementing his guitar is a warm, strong, resonant voice that makes for a unique and powerful combination.

Recently, Carlos has traded in performing solo for the fuller, richer, more dynamic sound of collaboration with drummer/percussionist Hector Torres. Calvo's material is brought to life in new and exciting ways by this energetic duo.
